H2020 H2020
Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. Seen as a means to drive economic growth and create jobs, Horizon 2020 has the political backing of Europe’s leaders and the Members of the European Parliament. They agreed that research is an investment in our future and so put it at the heart of the EU’s blueprint for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and jobs
OPTICON OPTICON
The Optical Infrared Co-ordination Network for astronomy brings together all the national and international agencies and organisations which fund, support, develop and operate Europe’s facilities for optical and infrared astronomy, both night-time -classical astronomy-and day-time -solar astronomy. OPTICON provides a framework allowing joint actions to improve the quality of Europe’s infrastructures, to train new astronomers, especially those from Central Europe, in modern new research methods, to develop innovative technologies to enhance research quality, to plan for future developments, and to work towards a strategic plan for Europe’s future research infrastructures.
JMMC JMMC
The JMMC is the French Center for Infrared and Optical Interferometry. It provides support for the users of the astronomical interferometers currently in operation around the world.
Laboratoire Lagrange Laboratoire Lagrange
The LAGRANGE laboratory is a joint research unit (UMR 7293) depending on three agencies: CNRS, Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (UNS). It aims to develop multidisciplinary research activities in the field of astrophysics, mechanical and processing of signals and images as well as a major effort to offer courses related to these themes. Thematic teams revolve around the formation and evolution of planetary systems, solar and stellar physics, galaxies and cosmology, signal processing, and finally the non-linear dynamics.
Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur
The Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur has a remarkable architectural and scientific heritage, which is open to the public. But far from looking to the past, OCA remains an internationally recognized center for research in Earth Sciences and Astronomy.
GRICAD GRICAD
GRICAD (Grenoble Alpes Research Scientific Computing and Data Infrastructure) is a support unit (UAR 3758) linked to CNRS (INSMI), to Grenoble Alpes University, to Grenoble Institute of Engineering and to INRIA (French national research institute for the digital sciences). GRICAD was created in 2016 to to meet computing and data needs of researchers at the Grenoble site. These challenges are part of a context of very rapid technical evolution of the various High Performance Computing (HPC), cloud and data technologies (storage, digging, processing, etc.), and of growing importance of energy efficiency and the eco-efficiency of digital infrastructures.
Nuclino Nuclino
Nuclino is a web platform based on wiki, but with collaborative editing and lots of cool features! Nuclino kindfully offered the VLTI school to host the live part of its website for free. Description from their website: "Nuclino is the easiest way to organize and share knowledge in teams. Create real-time collaborative documents and connect them instantly like in a wiki. Use the tree, board, and graph view to explore and organize your knowledge visually. It's great for meeting notes, product requirements, docs, decisions, and more."
